ICE’s recent workplace enforcement efforts “have brought seniors and teens back in favor with many employers,” according to the founder of two career-building websites.
“U.S. born seniors and teens are perfect candidates for holiday jobs that need to be filled. Many seniors are just looking for something to do and teens need experience and a little extra money for their necessities,” says Renee Ward, founder of ‘Seniors4Hire.org’ and ‘Teens4Hire.org.’ Read more »

Last year, Newark city officials downplayed the immigration and gang connections in the brutal execution-style slayings of three New Jersey students. Terrance Aeriel, 18, Dashon Harvey, 20, and Iofemi Hightower, 20, were lined up against a schoolyard wall and shot in the back of the head. A fourth victim, Natasha Aeriel, survived after being sexually assaulted and shot in the face. Read more »

Once a business is permitted to violate immigration laws in the workplace, there’s no telling how many more laws will fall by the wayside.

Under the direction of President Bush, Congress is on the verge of authorizing $48 billion for an AIDS/malaria/tuberculosis program dubbed by the Associated Press as the “most ambitious foreign public health program ever launched by the United States.” Originally launched in 2003, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is designed to reduce the spread of infectious diseases throughout the world. Regardless of which candidate wins in November, be prepared for the National Council of La Raza to announce a victory for mass, illegal alien amnesty. La Raza will likely announce that the outcome (whether it be a President Obama or McCain) “indicates America’s support for comprehensive reform.” Of course, poll after poll after poll indicates quite the opposite.
The following are immigration-related excerpts from the Obama and McCain speeches at La Raza’s annual conference this week. Read more »

Federal Judge Harry S. Mattice Jr. (Tennessee Eastern District Court), a former Republican Party chairman and Bush-appointed U.S. Attorney, has called into question the validity of describing a Social Security card as a form of identification. ICE arrested 311 foreign nationals, 91 of whom were charged with criminal violations. Read more »

The Supreme Court today rejected a plea by environmental groups to prevent Homeland Security from constructing part of the pending U.S.-Mexico border fence. The White House had made use of a statutory provision in the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (provided via amendment by 2005’s REAL ID Act) which reads, in part: “[n]otwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall have the authority to waive all legal requirements such Secretary, in such Secretary’s sole discretion, determines necessary to ensure expeditious construction of the barriers and roads.” In other words, Congress gave the White House direct authority to waive various laws, such as environmental protection statutes, when securing our borders.
